Djamila Silva

Although she is the youngest and most introvert athlete of the team, she shouldn’t be underestimated! After an excellent judo career in the junior competition (for example: she won a bronze medal at the African Games in 2014 and became the vice champion of Africa at the African Championships in 2016), she is now ready for the senior competition circuit.

While her Bronze medal at the African Open in Cameroon was the highlight of 2018, 2019 is already marked by her performances with SL Benfica. This judo club, located in Lisbon, took the gold for the second year in a row at the Portuguese national team championships thanks to her explosive judo skills.

Competing in the team competitions for Benfica is the obvious choice, since she is finishing her studies of psychology in Lisbon. It is not easy to combine all this, but as she is both supermotivated and highly disciplined, it is no problem for her.
