Born in Bruges, Belgium, this highly motivated judoka is the most recent addition to Cabo Verde’s team of elite judo competitors.

However, with her silver medal at the African Championships 2021 (a first in Cape Verdean history), gold medal at the Jeux de la Francophonie, medals at European Opens & Cups and qualification for the upcoming Olympics, she is definitely not new at the world stage of competitive judo. 

Sandrine breaths judo. Even while studying economics and subsequently performing scientific research on the organizational structures of national sports federations worldwide, she would not give up on competitive judo.

This shy but ever-hopeful teamplayer combines a deep concentration on the tatami with a light-hearted spirit next to it.
