Sandrine qualifies for the Olympics in Tokyo

It's official now: Sandrine will be competing at the Olympics on the 27th of july.

She will be preparing this competition with training camps in Slovakia, Croatia, and Portugal.

Go go go Cape verde!

Ready for some mind blowing facts? Here we go:

- Two medals on one African Championship? That's a first for Cape Verde!

- With these results Cape Verde is the best Portuguese speaking country at this championship.

- Cape Verde ranks 9th in the overall  classification (on a total of 40 participating countries)  

- First silver medal EVER for Cape Verde at an African Championship

Alexandre writes Cabo Verdean Sports history in Madagascar!!!

What a nailbiting Championship! 

After a 7th place for Carolina, three 5th places for Sandra, Djamila and Sandrine, Alexandre writes Cabo Verdean Sports history!

He is the first Cabo Verdean ever to win a medal at the African Championships.

Congrats Alexandre and JTCV with these excellent results!!

At the African Open in Yaounde, Cameroon, JTCV is doing great with lots of good fights and good results: 

Alexandre Silva: Silver medal 
French Carolina: Bronze Medal
Magner Mender: Bronze Medal
Djamila Silva: 5th place

Adysangela still has to compete tomorrow so hopefully another great result can be added!

Then next week, the whole team is competing in Dakar, Senegal!

European Open Luxemburg; Bronze for Sandrine

After beating Hansen from Sweden, Deketer from France, and Yvin also from France with only Ippons, Sandrine finishes 3th!

 

The team is getting ready for the World Championships!

Arriving a few days earlier to adapt to the time zone of Tokyo, they're now all 100% ready!

Alexandre starts on this first day of competition. Monday it's Djamila's turn, then Tuesday Magner and on Wednesday Sandrine 's up.

A few last trainings at the legendary Kodokan and then all focused for the competition!

World Judo Championships Tokyo 2019

The World Judo Championships are coming up!

They will be held at the birth place of judo: Japan.

Athletes from all over the world are going to compete in Tokyo. Of course Judo Team Cabo Verde can’t be absent!

Die-hard fans can come cheer for us and buy their ticket here.

But don’t worry if you can’t be there because your dentist’s appointment happens to be that week. You’ll still be a die-hard fan to us.
